My sister and I got a lecture from our parents today about the importance of security. They're just really concerned because we're making plans to live on our own. This is the first time we've ever dared to do something like this. We decided we weren't going to spend the summer at our parents' house. I think the decision surprised them because my brother is planning to come back from school in the summer and live with them and they thought we would all be together. I can understand their concern. They just want to make sure that whatever place we choose to live we make sure it's well equipped with some type of security device. Particularly if we decide to move to an area that's within the community. There have been several stories on the news lately about people breaking into other peoples' homes.  That part has us a little bit nervous too, but we're going to take every safety precaution we can. I'm glad they're around to worry and care about us and remind us about these things. I think prior to talking to them our biggest concern was whether any attractive guys would be living in the area or not!
